The Porte de Versaille exhibition centre in Paris has today hosted the launch of the Salon International de L’Agriculture 2010 agricultural show. President of France Nicolas Sarkozy officially opened the exhibition. Russian Minister of Agriculture Yelena Skrynnik represented Russia at the ceremony. Salon International de L’Agriculture 2010 is one of the largest shows in Europe and is held for the 47th time. The show will run until March 7, 2010.

According to the Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture, Tatarstan is represented by the deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture Minister Marat Akhmetov, Cabinet of Ministers department of agribusiness management, land relations and consumer market chief Anatoly Krasnov, State Duma deputy Airat Khairullin, Vamin Tatarstan general director Vagiz Mingazov, Tatpotrebsoyuz board chairman Makhmut Fattakhov, Sabin municipal district head Rais Minnikhanov and other officials.

Kamaz and Sollers have been included on the list of manufacturers of autos and road construction equipment from whom state customers will in 2010 purchase products for state needs. The total list, approved by a Government of Russia’s resolution, includes 20 auto manufacturers. The companies on the list that have production facilities inside Tatarstan are Sollers Yelabuga, with the autos Fiat Ducato, Severstal Auto Isuzu, manufacturing Isuzu trucks, Sollers Naberezhnye Chelny, with Fiat and Ssang Yong, and Kamaz, who will be bought trucks and special vehicles on chassis from.

Officials from the Tatarstan Labour Ministry, Committee for Housing and Utilities and Kazan executive committee and President of Tatarstan State Housing Fund answered questions from the veterans.

A meeting has today been held at the Kazan culture centre, to consult Great Patriotic War veterans, family members of killed (deceased) invalids and war participants on receiving residential facilities. The initiative to hold the meeting was put forward by the Tatarstan Public Chamber that had been contacted by city’s veteran associations.

The 4th Congress of Tatarstan Muslims that will elect the Chairman of the Muslim Religious Board of the Republic of Tatarstan is taking place at the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar Drama Theatre on February 27th. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is attending the forum.

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov met with Alfred Perez Bravo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to the Russian Federation, at the House of Government on February 26th. They discussed cooperation in some branches of economy.

Tatarstan films "The Eagles" by director Ramil Tukhvatoullin and "Bibinur" by Yury Feting took part in the 4th International Days of the Turkic World Cinema in Istanbul on February 15-18.

February 26, at the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Ilyas Daudi, the Hero of Russia, on who a title of the Hero of the Russian Federation for courage and heroism displayed when doing his duty of a soldier in the Republic of Afghanistan was bestowed by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No 1497 of December 27, 2009. Russian President Dmitri Medvedev presented Ilyas Daudi with a medal of the Golden Star in the Saint George Room of the Moscow Kremlin on February 19, 2010.

The Best Goods of Republic of Tatarstan 2010 competition has been launched, told a briefing at the Republican Agency for Print Media and Mass Communication the Tatarstan Industry and Trade Ministry department of analysis and consumer market and services chief Valentina Popova. The organising committee is led by the Tatarstan Industry and Trade Minister Ravil Zaripov. The committee includes representatives from local ministries and departments. A Best Goods of the Republic of Tatarstan catalogue is published annually, offering detailed information on each laureate. The catalogue helps present the republic’s accomplishments in various fields both inside and outside Tatarstan, in Russian regions and in the far abroad. The catalogue is published in Russian and English.

Days of Mexico and Mexican culture has started today in Kazan. The United Mexican States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Alfredo Perez Bravo, Kazan State University Rector Myakzyum Salakhov, Tatarstan First Vice-Minister of Culture Aydar Gaynutdinov and other officials took part in the solemn opening, which took place at the university. Days of Mexico and Mexican Culture has been held on the basis of Kazan University since 2005. This year is of particular importance, as events are held within the framework of celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence, the 100th anniversary of Mexican revolution and the 120th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Mexico and Russia.
