October 14, USA Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accompanied by Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Kazan Kremlin, the historical architectural complex in Kazan.

October 14, the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived to Tatarstan capital in the course of her working visit to the Russian Federation.

Over 40 films have been submitted for the contest programme of the International Sports Film Festival, which will be held in Kazan on October 23-24 at Korston cinema theatre as a part if the First All-Russia Sports Forum “Russia Sports Power”. The films from Russia, Italy, Iran, Serbia, the Unites States, France, Rumania, Portugal, Spain, China, and Ukraine will be presented in the contest programme.

The III International economic forum “Sustained development of Russian cities” with participation of European Conference of Ministers’ specialists responsible for regional and space planning will be opened tomorrow in Yelabuga.

The klezmer ensemble “Simkha” will celebrate its 20th anniversary at a grandiose concert in the UNICS centre on the 19th of October. “Simkha”, one of the most professional ensembles of Russia, as a rule performs the Jewish music. It is planning to give a concert in Kazan in a day or two. The “Tatar-inform” agency’s reporter attended a rehearsal of the band and talked to the artistic director of the klezmer ensemble Edward Tumansky. The name of the band, “Simkha”, is first of all associated with Leonid Solntse – the ensemble’s artistic director who died in November 2001.

The KAMAZ public limited company takes part in the 11th Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn”. This international forum of modern agricultural technologies is held in Moscow from 9th to 13th of October at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre.

Today, the V International symposium on supramolecular chemistry began its work in Kazan. The forum, which will be closed on the 16th of October, assembled about 200 experts from the leading scientific centers of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, South Korea and Australia. The key lectures of the symposium will be focused on supramolecular chemistry, nanotechnology and the materials with improved properties.

The two-year evening courses in the Kazan Islamic College under the Mardzhani mosque were opened on the 12th of October.

These courses are organized for the first time and are meant for the people who have no opportunity to receive the full-time education. Previously, there were the weekend courses in this educational institution. After taking into consideration the number of those who wanted to study, it was decided to open the evening courses.

Tomorrow the "Zarechie" children's health camp launches the IV republican gathering of volunteers. More than 150 volunteers from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Yelabuga, Almetyevsk, Zelenodolsk, Chistopol and other municipalities of the republic will participate in the forum.

Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin has left for Strasburg (France) to participate in the 17th plenary session of the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CE CLRA).
