First-year students of Tatarstan’s top-ranked universities have to undergo a selective countercheck of USE results, organized by RosObrNadzor (Federal Education and Science Supervision Service), till the end of September.

During this year Republic of Tatarstan will receive about 2,4 billion of roubles in total for realization of the Priority National Health project. Republic carries out 16 directions of the project into practice. Three supplementary projects of the National Health project started to be realized in Tatarstan in 2009. They are: formation of population’s healthy life-style, improvement of blood-service organization, setting up health care services by road traffic incidents on M-7 federal route.

Over 156 thousand of Tatarstan people participated in the All-Russian Running Day on September 20. 21578 Kazan citizens took part in the Cross-Country of Nations-2009. 135 thousand running fans all over the republic participated in Tatarstan Cross-Country. This data was provided by Tatarstan Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism Ministry leading adviser Yelena Vasilenko.

General Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan held Iftar for Tatar intellectuals and clergy on the eve of the last Friday of Ramadan. Iftar was held in a cordial atmosphere, the guests tasted traditional Iranian dishes. Then they went to a mosque for night vigils.

September 18, Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin will take part in the XXIth proceedings of legislative (representative) authorities of the Volga Federal District subjects, which will be held in Kirov city.

September 17, Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the RT State Council, presented Yury Solomin, artistic director of the State Academic Malyi Theatre, with the medal "In memory of the 1000-anniversary of Kazan”.

A meeting of Tatarstan State Council Presidium has been held today. Chairman of the republican parliament Farid Moukhametshin held the meeting. It has been decided to hold the fifth session of Tatarstan State Council of IV convocation on September 24. The Presidium proposes submitting 44 issues for consideration of parliamentarians. 24 of them are Tatarstan bills of the Republic of Tatarstan laws, 2 bills are expected to be passed in the third reading: “On preventive measures of drug addiction and toxicomania”, and “On introducing changes to RT Law “On the nerds”.

14 sport objects of the Universiade-2013 in Kazan will be finished by the end of 2009. Opening of 4 Universiade-2013 objects will be dated to the all-Russian event “Russia – Sport Power”. These objects include the trap shooting complex in Verkhneuslonsky Region. Europe championship in trap shooting will be held there in 2010. Besides, Kazan Tennis academy is to open in October. Davis Cup or ATP tournament is planned to be organized there next year.

November 22 is Mikhail Mil’s centenary day. He was an outstanding man, Doctor of Engineering, developer of famous helicopters. RT Government supported the initiative of Kazan Helicopter Plant on the organisation of celebrations, devoted to the centenary of famous constructor.
