September 17, State Academic Malyi Theatre will open its 254th season with “Revizor” performance, putting it on at the scene of Tatar State Academic Theatre named after G. Kamal. Kazan inhabitants will see performances, considered to be a face of Malyi Theatre. Recent years Malyi’s theatre seasons are opened not in Moscow. The actors of Malyi Theatre have already visited Kazan in spring 2008: the capital of Tatarstan was one of the points of their great Volga region-tour.

The Universiade-2013 construction consortium to be involved in planning and construction of one of the key objects in Kazan has been determined. An international tender was held on two primary-priority objects of the Universiade-2013 – football stadium for 45 thousand seats and Water Sports Palace. One of the winners has been determined, Director of "Universiade-2013 Directorate" autonomous non-government organization Vladimir Leonov informed.

The Russian Federation Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko expressed gratitude to Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov for active participation in IX Moscow international saloon of innovations and investment.

The 8th International Investment Forum Sochi 2009 will open tomorrow. The Tatarstan’s delegation will take part in it. Tatarstan will present a display on a space of 156 square metres. The display includes thematic sections called Electronic Tatarstan (Electronic Government and ETIS systems), Oil, Gas and Chemical Cluster, Construction and Transport, Agriculture, IT Technologies, Special Economic Zone Alabuga, Nanotechnologies and Universiade 2013. According to the Tatarstan’s Venture Investment Fund, local companies will present over 100 investment and innovative projects.

The Tatarstan’s deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Linar Latypov has met in Moscow with a Swiss delegation and held a presentation of Tatarstan’s industrial and investment potential. The meeting took place at the premises of Tatarstan’s plenipotentiary representation in Russia, said the Tatarstan Industry and Trade’s press service.

Russian championship in trap-shooting opened on September 15 in a new shooting complex in Verkhneuslonsky Region of Tatarstan. RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Russia Shooting Association and European Shooting Confederation President Vladimir Lisin took part in the opening ceremony.

The conference, devoted to the memory of Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy will take place in Kazan from the 5th till the 9th of October. Last year it was the 180th birthday of this outstanding Russian writer and in 2010 it will be 100 years since his death.

The 22nd of September is the World Car-Free Day. The car-free day tradition was started in France in 1998 and more than one thousand cities from 35 countries all over the world officially joined the movement in 2001.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev sent a congratulation telegram for the name of JSC KAMAZ Director General Sergei Kogogin and “Silk Road” project head, KAMAZ-Master team leader Semyon Yakubov.

The Tatarstan representation yesterday hosted a presentation of Tatarstan’s investment potential held for the Association of European Businesses in Russia.
