August 29, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the ceremony of transfer of 110 ambulance cars to the medical emergency service. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and RT Health Minister Airat Farrakhov also attended the ceremony held in the square before the Kazan National Cultural Centre.

A joint meeting of RF Prosecutor General and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District is held in Nizhny Novgorod on August 28. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is taking part in the event.

The RT Investment and Venture Fund and FinNode Russia (the Finland-Russia Innovation Centre) has signed a cooperation agreement at the 9th Moscow International Innovation and Investment Salon. Under the agreement they will exchange information in the sphere of venture investment, assist in promotion of projects of the RT Investment and Venture Fund on the international market, attract investment for implementation of joint projects.

August 28, the motordrome Vysokaya Gora near Kazan will host the traditional international rally-cross competition ‘Cup of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan’. This year, the rally has a status of Russia’s fifth rally cross championship in divisions D1 and D1A and the fourth stage of the Russian Championship in division D2-Junior.

Tatarstan divers have won the gold at the World Cup, held on August 25-26 at the Olympic reserve school’s swimming pool in Saint-Petersburg.

The government of Russia has held a meeting following the MAKS 2009 international air show in Zhukovsky near Moscow and ahs issued instructions related to the further development of the aviation industry, told journalists today the Tatarstan Industry and Trade Minister Ravil Zaripov before a ministry staff meeting in Kazan.

JSC Tatneft has produced oil in the amount of 400 barrels a day from the A1-82/04 oil well at a deposit in Libya, said the Finam agency citing the Libyan National Oil Corporation. The deposit is located in the Gadames 345 km south of Tripoli.
