On December 17 at an extended session of the Council for interethnic and interconfessional relations Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan leadership intends fighting illegal migration, and at the same time is ready to support law-abiding foreign citizens willing to live, study and work in the republic. He noted as well that citizens are concerned about migration issues and this problem also refers to authorities and law enforcement bodies.
A mourning meeting in connection with tragic death of Head of Tatarstan Department of Federal Security Service Aleksandr Antonov in the plane crash on November 17. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, heads of regional ministries and agencies, employees of Tatarstan Department of Federal Security Service took part in the farewell ceremony.
On November 21 Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a session of State Council that started from a minute’s silence to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the plane crash at Kazan airport on November 17.
On behalf of his family Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev expressed condolences to relatives of people died in a plane crash on November 17, 2013.
On November 14 a solemn event on summarizing results and awarding winners of IV contest of social and cultural projects of OAO “RITEK” and charity foundation “Lukoil” in Tatarstan took place in Kazan. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of oil company “Lukoil” Vagit Alekperov, Tatarstan State Cousellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Board Chairman of OAO “Lukoil” and OAO “RITEK” Valery Graifer and other officials took part in the solemn awarding ceremony.
On November 12 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov presented Order of Merits for the Republic of Tatarstan to Co-Chairman of Russian Association of Lawyers Sergey Stepashin in accordance with Tatarstan President’s Order for long service, great contribution to formation and development of external state and municipal financial control. The event was held at the Kazan Kremlin with participation of State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office Asgat Safarov.
