Anatoly Artamonov, the Governor of the Kaluga Region, arrived in Kazan on November 10. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met the guest at the airport.

The Day of Militia is today marked in Russia. On this remarkable occasion, a solemn parade has today taken place at the Interior Ministry parade ground, attended by Tatarstan State Council deputy chairman Alexander Gusev, Interior Minister Asgat Safarov, as well as Interior Ministry senior officers, personnel and veterans.

Ravil Zaripov, the RT Minister of Industry and Trade told about the business trip of representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan to the Free State of Saxony, Germany at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers on November 10. The visit was held on 2-5 November 2009 and a number of protocol agreements were signed.

The meeting with a delegation of the Swiss Embassy to the Russian Federation led by First Secretary Leo Tremblee was held in the RT Industry and Trade Ministry on November 9. The mission is related to the visit by the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Russian Federation to Kazan in 2010 and a business mission of Switzerland coming to Kazan.

On invitation by the President of the Asian Ombudsmen Association (AOA) the Ombudsman of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rashit Vagizov, took part in the 11 the Asian Ombudsmen Association Conference in Bangkok, Thailnad.

The Tatarstan capital has a chance to host one more tennis tournament, Russian Tennis Federation Vice-President Alexei Selivanenko told the federation press-service. The Tennis Academy was opened recently in Kazan. Dmitri Medvedev has already examined it. Russian Tennis Federation President Shamil Tarpischev highly assessed the centres and stated that international tennis games could be organized at the Kazan Tennis Academy.

The results of the work of Alliance Francaise - Kazan in 2009 were summed up on November 9; a plan for the next year was outlined. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva took part in an annual general assembly of the organization.

Russian government First Deputy Chairman Igor Shuvalov has today visited Naberezhnye Chelny. He was accompanied by Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexandra Levitskaya, General Director of the Rostekhnologii state corporation Sergei Chemezov, his deputy Igor Zavialov and Vnesheconombank board chairman Vladimir Dmitriev.

All-Russian scientific conference “Crossing of cultures. Museum memory: national and international” will be held at Tatarstan National Museum on November 12-13. The conference is held with participation of St. Petersburg State University, Kazan State University, the Republic of Tatarstan National Museum.

The Trade and Industry Chamber of Naberezhnye Chelny and the Transkama region will jointly with Kamaz on November 12-13 hold a forum called “Lean Production: Principles, Instruments, Experience”. The forum is sponsored by the Russian Trade and Industry Chamber with the support of the Tatarstan Trade and Industry Chamber, Mayor’s Offices of Naberezhnye Chelny and Yelabuga, reports the Tatarstan TIC’s press service.
