The deputies of the State Council of Tatarstan committees discuss the draft budget for the year 2010. Today the Tatarstan socio-economic development forecast for the next year was considered at the meetings of the State Council committee on economy, investment and entrepreneurship and the social policy committee.

The last operational meeting of the organizing committee of the I All-Russian Sports Forum "Russia - Sports State," which starts on the 22 of October in Kazan, will be held on the 20 of October in the online mode at the Moscow Manege. October 20, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, visited the Kaluga Oblast where he took part in a meeting of the RF Governmental Commission for Regional Development on the issue of efficiency of executive authorities of the Russian Federation. The meeting was chaired by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

On the 29th of October the "Golden word of Yaroslavl" show dedicated to the outstanding monument of the ancient Russian literature “The Lay of Igor” will be opened in the Exhibition Hall of Yelabuga. There will be more then 200 displays from the collections of the Yaroslavl State culture preserve.

On the 19th of October, the professor of the USA Yale University Majid Sadigh visited the Kazan Medical Academy. During the meeting with the rector of the KSMA Kamil Ziyatdinov and the teaching stuff of the Academy Majid Sadigh discussed the cooperation of the Medical Academy and the Yale University in the field of training of the qualified specialists for practical public health and their level of education improvement.
