First participants of the Silk Road rally arrived in Kazan on September 2. Cars and trucks of participants and technical escort can be seen on Tatarstan capital streets.

The Russian conference entitled "Regulating Price of Medicines in the Russian Federation" was opened in Kazan on September 3. The Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the first meeting.

September 3, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received at the Kazan Kremlin Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Mr Ahmet Ergin and Mrs Ergin.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with the Head of Federal Tariff Service, Sergei Novikov, and the Director of the Department of Social Development and Conservation of the Environment of the Russian Government, Nelli Naigovzina, at the Kazan Kremlin on September 3.

The BRIC International Competition Conference was opened at the Korston Hotel in Kazan on September 1st. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Igor Shuvalov and Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the conference.

September 1, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited Kazan State University of Culture and Arts.

One more stage of the operation named ‘Illegal migrant’ has come to an end in Tatarstan during which officers of the Directorate of the Federal Migration Service of Russia in Tatarstan together with RT Internal Affairs Ministry officers, Gosnarkokontrol and other services checked 1699 employers employing foreigners, 5623 places of accommodation of foreigners and persons without citizenship.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev presented the RT Gabdulla Tukai State Prize on the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan, August 30th.

August 29, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the ceremony of transfer of 110 ambulance cars to the medical emergency service. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and RT Health Minister Airat Farrakhov also attended the ceremony held in the square before the Kazan National Cultural Centre.
