President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev sent congratulations telegram to «KamAZ-Master» team on behalf of all citizens of Tatarstan and himself personally on triumphant victory in «Dakar-2009» marathon rally-raid.

January 17, Farid Mukhametshin, the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan - Secretary of the Political Council of Tatarstan Regional Branch of the "United Russia" party made a working visit to Kukmorsky district of Tatarstan. During the visit he inspected several objects and took part in the opening ceremonies of Muslim madrasah and covered skating rink with manufactured ice built up on "United Russia" social project as well as met with leadership and inhabitants of the district.

January 17, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan made a working visit to Aktanyshsky municipal district of the republic. The Head of the RT Government took part in the opening ceremonies of the new building of Taktalachuk correction boarding school and new shop for KAMAZ tracks utility producing at the "Aktanysh aggregate plant".

On January 16th, the Republic of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the working meeting on preparing and conducting in Kazan the 27th World Summer Universiade. The meeting took place in the seat of the Russian Federation Government, presided by Igov Shuvalov – First deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation, chairman of the committee.
Mintimer Shaimiev also met with deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak and Chaiman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref.

Delegation of the Eastern Azerbaijan Province (Islamic Republic of Iran) headed by province Governor Ahmad Alireza Beygi visited Kazan State University on January 16.

Ministry of Economy in common of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan is preparing the Agreement, in accordance of which the tax remissions will be exempted to some enterprises of Tatarstan – said the RT Minister of Economy Marat Safiullin.

January 15, the delegation of Eastern Azerbaijan province (Islamic Republic of Iran) headed by the province Governor Mr. Ahmad Alireza Beygi visited the Tatar State Humanitarian-Pedagogical University (TSHPU). Memorandum on agreement in the sphere of science and educational cooperation between Azerbaijan Pedagogical University (Iran) and TSHPU was signed during the visit.

January 15, Tatarstan’s Economy Minister Marat Safiullin reported on the course of implementing the earlier adopted anti-crisis and financial recovery measures.

Memorandum on establishing twin city relations between Kazan and Tabriz was signed on January 14. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Mayor of Tabriz Alireza Novin signed the Memorandum at Kazan City Hall.

Eastern Azerbaijan Province (Islamic Republic of Iran) considers opportunities of investing in manufacture of heavy and light tractors on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, development of joint projects between Tatarstan and Iran universities, and opening a direct air communication between Kazan and Tabriz.
Governor of Eastern Azerbaijan Ahmad Alireza Beygi stated it during the meeting with Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov at the Cabinet of Ministers.
