January 19, the international scientific-practical conference "Theory and Practice of Institutional Changes in Economic Development of Society" was held in Kazan State Technical University n.a. A.Tupolev (KGTU-KAI). The leader scientists of Russia are participating in the Conference.

January 19, Nazif Mirikhanov, the Plenipotentiary of Tatarstan in Russia received Mr. Simon de Cruz, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore in the Russian Federation. A broad circle of the issues of the bilateral economic cooperation was discussed during the meeting.

January 19, the session of the Board of the RT Ministry of Forestry was held in Kazan with the participation of the Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan. The system of the management of the forestry and tasks of the branch for the next ten years was discussed at the meeting.

In 2008 "Kazan" International Airport served 751504 passengers or 21.9 percent more than it did in 2007. During the year the passenger traffic on international lines rose by 29.5 percent, on internal lines – by 17 percent.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated KAMAZ-Master team on victory in Dakar-2009 rally.

KAMAZ-Master team’s participation in Dakar-2009 rally finished with triumph. Firadus Kabirov’s crew was the first among trucks, Vladimir Chagin came second.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev sent congratulations telegram to «KamAZ-Master» team on behalf of all citizens of Tatarstan and himself personally on triumphant victory in «Dakar-2009» marathon rally-raid.

January 17, Farid Mukhametshin, the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan - Secretary of the Political Council of Tatarstan Regional Branch of the "United Russia" party made a working visit to Kukmorsky district of Tatarstan. During the visit he inspected several objects and took part in the opening ceremonies of Muslim madrasah and covered skating rink with manufactured ice built up on "United Russia" social project as well as met with leadership and inhabitants of the district.

January 17, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan made a working visit to Aktanyshsky municipal district of the republic. The Head of the RT Government took part in the opening ceremonies of the new building of Taktalachuk correction boarding school and new shop for KAMAZ tracks utility producing at the "Aktanysh aggregate plant".
