Newly-made Russian football champions of 2008 – the football players of “Rubin” returned to the Tatarstan capital late on November 2. Some 2 thousand fans gathered to meet the Champions at the Kazan International Airport. Not only ordinary fans but also leaders of Kazan and the republic all wearing the club clothes came to greet the new heroes.
“For the first time in the republican history thanks to glorious playing of Rubin we have football champions of Russia,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.
November 1, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with participants of the 3rd Russian children's television festival "Vklyuchaisya!" ("Join in!") at the Kazan Kremlin. The group of festival participants attending the meeting with the head of the republic was led by the President of the National association of television and radio broadcasters (NAT), Eduard Sagalaev.
October 28 saw the 4th Forum of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia –the Islamic World” continuing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Mintimer Shaimiev, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, delivered speech as a main rapporteur at the first meeting that focused on today’s state of affairs in international relations.
October 27 saw the ceremonial opening of the 4th meeting of the Starategic Vision Group "Russia - the Islamic world" taking place in the Jeddah Conference Palace.
October 27, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, departed for Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to take part in the Fourth Forum of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia - the Islamic World”.
October 23 saw the meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, and the head of the Federal service for supervising natural resources of the Ministry of natural resources and ecology of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kirillov, taking place at the Kazan Kremlin.
The meeting of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the third convocation opened in the conference hall of the RT State Council on October 22. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting. The key issue at the meeting was the draft budget for 2009 and for the planning period of 2010 and 2011.
