October 23, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Anatoly Pristavkin, the well-known writer and Advisor to the RF President on issues of amnesty and pardon.

October 22, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev presented a public lecture at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tatarstan in the years of transformation.

October 20, Mintimer Shaimiev, the President of Tatarstan – Co-chairman of the Higher Council of the United Russia party, took part in the Republican forum of the party’s supporters.

The plane with Boris Gryzlov, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, and Aleksei Gordeyev, the Russian Minister of Agriculture, on board arrived in the Tatarstan capital in the morning of October 19. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime-minister – Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Chairman of the RT State Council met the guests at the airport.

At the RT State Council session on October 18, President Shaimiev announced measures taken by the republican government regarding the increase of food prices. Assessing the current situation on the foodstuff market of the republic and the results of measures taken to reduce expenses of Tatarstan people, Mintimer Shaimiev said: “As of today, I can say that tension has generally defused”.

October 17, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Chairman of the Board of directors and President of TriGranit Development Corporation Sandor Demjan at the Kazan Kremlin. They discussed opportunities of cooperation between the Hungarian company and the Republic of Tatarstan in construction and agriculture.

October 17 saw the continuation of the 33rd RT State Council session that had been adjourned on September 28. Deputy Head of the republican parliament Aleksander Gusev led chaired the session. President Mintimer Shaimiev also attended the session together with representatives of judicial authorities and officials of the republican government and heads of district administrations.

October 13, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev attended the republican holiday of Harvest 2007 held on the eve of the Day of workers of agriculture and processing industry.

October 12, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting in the Kazan Kremlin about the situation in the country’s foodstuffs market.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev has sent a greeting to mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis and the Religious Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia.
