October 26 saw the meeting of members of the FISU Evaluation Committee headed by the FISU Secreatary General, Mr. Roch Campana, and the President of Tatarstan, Mr. Mintimer Shaimiev taking place at the Kazan Kremlin.
October 24, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to Gabdulla Tukai’s monument in St. Petersburg. The opening of the monument in June 2005 was timed to 120th anniversary of the great Tatar poet. The same day, the World Congress of Compatriots living abroad started in the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg. President Shaimiev took part in the forum.
October 20 saw the continuation of the working visit by the President of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, to Great Britain.
The morning started with an interview to Bloomberg television company. Mintimer Shaimiev talked about priorities of the economic development in the republic.
October 18, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev heading the official RT delegation has arrived in Great Britain. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom, Mr. Yury Fedotov met the Tatarstan leader at Gatwick Airport.
October 16, Forum “Society, authority, business: uniting efforts for the development of charitable activity”. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Representative of the RF President in the Volga Federal District Vladimir Zorin and other officials take part in the forum.
