President of the Russian Track & Field Federation congratulated Mintimer Shaimiev on successful performance of Tatarstan athletes
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received a letter from President of the Russian Track & Field Federation Valentin Balakhnichev; the letter informs about a successful end of the 2006 competition season by Russian athletic teams. It was a preparatory stage for 29th Olympic Games in Beijing.

October 31, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with the Governor of Perm region, Oleg Chirkunov, in his official residence at the Kazan Kremlin.
The Perm delegation arrived in Kazan on October 30. The members of the delegation studied how the Social mortgage programme is being realised in the republic, examined the results of the dilapidated housing elimination programme, visited the Interregional ambulance care and diagnostic centre, Idea technopark, met with the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, visited the newly-opened entertainment complex “Riviera”.

The delegation headed by Oleg Chirkunov, Governor of Perm region, arrived in the Tatarstan capital on October 30. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, met the head of the region at the airport.

Tatarstan President has met with members of the FISU Evaluation Commission

October 26 saw the meeting of members of the FISU Evaluation Committee headed by the FISU Secreatary General, Mr. Roch Campana, and the President of Tatarstan, Mr. Mintimer Shaimiev taking place at the Kazan Kremlin.

Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the World Congress of Compatriots

October 24, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to Gabdulla Tukai’s monument in St. Petersburg. The opening of the monument in June 2005 was timed to 120th anniversary of the great Tatar poet. The same day, the World Congress of Compatriots living abroad started in the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg. President Shaimiev took part in the forum.

October 19, London, Great Britain, the First Investment Summit “Strategic Areas of Development and Investment Opportunities in the Republic of Tatarstan” has started. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev made a speech at the opening session.
Before the opening, the head of the republic visited the exposition of the Republic of Tatarstan.
