On May 26, 2006 Mintimer Shaimiev, President of Tatarstan met in Kazan Kremlin Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of JSC Russian railways. Mintimer Shaimiev and Vladimir Yakunin discussed the questions of cargo and passenger transportation in Tatarstan and pointed out a positive experience of mutually beneficial cooperation. As the result of the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev and Vladimir Jakunin signed a protocol.

On the 23rd of May Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the Republic of Tatarstan took part at the meeting of the Governmental commission on fuel and energy complex and reproduction of mineral and raw-material base. The meeting was conducted by Michail Fradkov, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

On 22nd of May Mintimer Shaimiev, President of Tatarstan met in Kazan Kremlin with Georg Milbradt, Prime-minister of Free State of Saxony, who arrived in the republic last Sunday on May 21 at the head of representative business delegation.

On the 22nd of May Mintimer Shaimiev, President of Tatarstan met with Sergey Makarov, Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of Volga-Ural Military District.

Club of Managers of Central Banks of Central Asia, Black Sea region and the Balkan countries holds a regular session in Kazan.

After regular meeting in Moscow G8 Sherps arrived in Kazan where they continued their work on preparation for G8 Summit in Saint Petersburg on July 15-17, journalists were informed by organizing committee of the Summit.
