In the nearest future Tunisia and Tatarstan would exchange businessmen groups for bilateral cooperation study and broadening already existing contacts. That was one of the results of the meeting of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Republic of Tunisia to RF Mohamed Bellaji that took place in the Kazan Kremlin.

RT President Mintimer Shaimiev signed a Law “On renewal of individual acts of water legislation”. This law was approved in accordance with amendments to the Federal legislation, RT President Press-Centre reports.

RT President Mintimer Shaimiev signed a decree “On the International Arbuzov Prize Reward in Organophosphorous Chemistry”. Prize 2005 was awarded to the university Professor Tohoku Yoshifuji Masaaki (Sendai, Japan). He also has been conferred a “Laureate of the International Arbuzov Prize in Organophosphorous Chemistry”.

Kazan Kremlin, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met 11 leaders of delegations - participants of XXII session of Permanent council TURKSOY. On the part of the republic RT Deputy Prime Minister - RT Minister of culture of Zilya Valeyeva, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs of RT President Timur Akulov, Provisional coordinator of Permanent council TURKSOY Ildus Tarkhanov took part in the meeting.

On May 31, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Deputy Chief of Staff of the Administration of the RF President Vladislav Surkov. They discussed current issues of preparation for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, the course of works on construction and restoration sites they had visited together.

On May 30, the participants and guests of the 22nd session of the Turksoy Permanent Council received a salutary address of the President of Tatarstan, in which Mintimer Shaimiev underlined the role of the Turkic world in formation of the civilisation. “Cultural and art masterpieces created by our ancestors are universal heritage today”, reads the address. The president reminded of necessity “to do everything possible to safeguard the memory of the past and to bear these riches by way of spiritual revival to future generations”.

Exactly at midday a solemn volley from 122-millimetric gun from Naryshkin's bastion of Peter and Paul’s Fortress marked transfer of anniversary relay of celebrations from Saint Petersburg celebrating 302-nd birthday, to Kazan. The shot, in honor of the 1000-anniversary from the date of foundation of Tatarsan capital has been made by President of the Republic Mintimer Shaimiev.

On May 27, an official meeting of President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, while being in St. Petersburg for celebration of the day of the city, and Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko took place in the Smolny Palace. V. Matvienko and M. Shaimiev discussed issues of bilateral relations and the course of preparation for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. St. Petersburg plays an active part in Kazan’s preparation for its millennium.

Today at the session of RT State Council the deputies considered and approved in the first reading the bill "On modification and additions and recognition invalid some RT acts on issues of privatization of housing fund". Necessity of acceptance of the given document has come out in connection with introduction into action of the new Housing code of Russia.
President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, being present at the session of State Council, called deputies in their work with population to pay to housing issues a special attention. "It is very important that apartments of overwhelming majority of the population of republic have been privatized, and they could participate in social mortgage. Otherwise the person would not have property which can become a subject of guarantee under the program. We have agreed with mass media that they to the full covered a course of implementing the realization, - President said.

President of Tatarstan will be met tonight at Saint Petersburg. on May 27, Mintimer Shaimiev will take part in a series of the official actions devoted to Day of city.
