On the 29th of October the "Golden word of Yaroslavl" show dedicated to the outstanding monument of the ancient Russian literature “The Lay of Igor” will be opened in the Exhibition Hall of Yelabuga. There will be more then 200 displays from the collections of the Yaroslavl State culture preserve.

On the 19th of October, the professor of the USA Yale University Majid Sadigh visited the Kazan Medical Academy. During the meeting with the rector of the KSMA Kamil Ziyatdinov and the teaching stuff of the Academy Majid Sadigh discussed the cooperation of the Medical Academy and the Yale University in the field of training of the qualified specialists for practical public health and their level of education improvement.

The third meeting of the Russian Federation Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport, for acme sports, for the preparation and holding of the XXII Winter Olympic Games, the XI Winter Paralympics in 2014 in Sochi and the XXVII World Summer Universiade of 2013 will take place in Kazan on the 23rd of October in the framework of the First All-Russian Sports Forum "Russia - Sports State".

Sport executive from all regions of the Russian Federation will participate in the first national-wide sports forum ‘Russia - Country of Sports’, which is to take place in Kazan on October 22-25.

The opening of the multi-purpose sport complex Zilant took place on Mavlyutov Street on October 19. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Aide to the Russian President Aleksander Abramov took part in the event.

The participants of the "Lisbon - Donghae" record transcontinental auto race visited Kazan. The organizer of the record road race across the entire Eurasian continent is the "Volkswagen" company, and the main participant of this event is the well-known traveler Rainer Tsitlou. The route consists of two parts: the rally from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean and the car race from the Tierra del Fuego archipelago to Alaska.

In November and December of this year 13-15 German managers will arrive in Tatarstan to undergo a training course at the leading enterprises of the republic. The three-week internship program of the German specialists will include a 5-day lecture course, visits to the leading enterprises of the republic, to the "Alabuga" Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan, the "Idea" Technopark, the Industrial Enterprises Association , the Investment and Venture Fund, etc.

Representatives of the German company “Hermes”, which supports the export credits, are going to visit Tatarstan in mid-November to discuss the matters of the public health supplies procurement.

In the near future several schools of Kazan will apply for membership in the International Baccalaureate Organization. During one week, on the instructions of the Mayor Ilsur Metshin, each head of the districts of Kazan will select one or two schools, which will be faced with preparation for joining the International Baccalaureate.
