A regular training course for municipal executives begins in Singapore. A group of regional heads from Tatarstan will learn Singapore’s practices in the field of public infrastructure and system of public regional governance, said the Tatarstan Economy Ministry’s press service.

The Tatarstan officials will within the course learn the Singapore’s state and administrative structure, general trends and strategies of the country’s economic development, internal demarcation, its rules and development factors, government's structure and operating policies, housing policies and infrastructural development, and industrial sector's development. Afterwards, the studied experience of the state with one of the most sustainable and efficient public governance systems that has created a competitive economy based on a competitive framework will be assessed in terms of its possible implementation in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan and Singapore have a valid cooperation agreement in the field of electronic government, signed by Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and head of Info-communications Development Authority International Seah Chin Siong. The document provides for further strengthening and promotion of trading, investment, business and technology partner relations and cooperation between info-communications industries of Tatarstan and Singapore, particularly, implementing the electronic government and its infrastructure development plans.

A report on preparation for the World Summer Universiade-2013 in Kazan will be delivered at the session of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in Shenzhen, China in May.

The next visit of FISU delegation to Kazan is scheduled for April, 2010, Vladimir Leonov said. The operational group of the International University Sports Federation will get acquainted with the Universiade infrastructure and tempos of preparation for Kazan Games-2013. Kazan delegation will go to the Olympics-2014 capital - Sochi to discuss issues of volunteers exchange and try out organization of technical services this summer.

The State Counselor of RT bill has been adopted by the RT State Counsel at the final reading.
The Tatarstan-Britain council was on March 11 within a UK delegation’s visit to Tatarstan held at the premises of the Mirazh Hotel in Kazan. The delegation is led by Minister Counsellor at the UK Embassy in Russia Caroline Wilson.

The council members were greeted by the Tatarstan deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Artur Fatykhov. “We are grateful for the interest in our republic you have displayed. The government of Tatarstan highlights cooperation with the EU countries, including Great Britain. I suppose the visit of your delegation will contribute to developing the Tatarstan-British relations. I hope this event will give new momentum to the relations between our states,” he said. According to Fatykhov, Tatarstan and Great Britain have long-established ties. “Representatives from the Tatarstan authorities, concerned with cooperation with Great Britain, have been invited to attend the today’s meeting. I expect the meeting to open up new ways for cooperation between Tatar and British businesses,” the deputy minister said.
Elena Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, is on a visit to Tatarstan on March 12. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov and other officials met the minister at the Begishevo International Airport.
Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre will participate in the Iberian-American Festival which is to take place in Columbian capital Bogota. Kamal Theatre will present “Takdir” (“Fate”) which was staged a year ago by Pedro Calderon’s play “Life is a Dream”. The troupe will leave for Columbia on March 15.

The classic’s work revived on the stage thanks to Spanish director Alejandro Gonzalez Puche. Kamal Theatre will open the festival on March 19. Besides four scheduled performances, lectures about the Tatar theatre history will be delivered in Bogota.

Artists of the world-wide known Cirque du Soleil can take part in the opening ceremony of the Universiade-2013 in Kazan. Mayor of Tatarstan capital Ilsur Metshin informed journalists about it after having signed a Memorandum on cultural cooperation between Kazan Mayor’s Office and Cirque du Soleil Rus company.
Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science has announced beginning of collecting applications for Tatarstan Government grant for training, re-training and internships at leading Russian and foreign educational and scientific organizations.
Saidashev Contest of folk instrument performers and conductors of folk instruments orchestras which has received the status of an international contest this year. It will take place in Kazan on March 16-25. The first Saidashev International Contest is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Kazan State Conservatoire. The event is organized by Russia and Tatarstan culture ministries, Kazan city administration, Jihanov Lazan State Conservatoire, Saidashev State Grand Concert Hall, the conservatoire’s Department of Folk Instruments.
The Universiade Kazan 2013 executive directorate will on March 16 to 19 take part in the annual MIPIM commercial property exhibition in Cannes, France. The solemn opening of the Kazan’s stand will take place on March 16 at 12:30 local time. Kazan has taken part in the show since 2006. Following the tradition of the past years, the Tatarstan’s capital will present at the MIPIM 2010 show the largest projects of the near future, the World Student Games 2013 venues. The total space of the republic’s display area is over 72 square metres. The purpose of the Tatarstan delegation’s trip to Cannes is to, first of all, attract investments to implement projects at the International Centre and Higher School of Sports Management.
