The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin approved the member list of the Organizing committee for preparation and organization of the First All-Russian sport forum “Russia – Sport Power”, which will be held in Kazan on October 22-25 in Kazan.
Chairman of the committee will be Vice-Premier, President of Russian Chess Federation Alexander Zhukov. His deputies are Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, Russia Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Vitaly Mutko, First Vice-Premier of Russian Olympic Committee, president of All-Russian Association of Summer Olympic Sport Sergei Bogdanchikov, deputy head of the Russian Federation President’s Board for Maintaining Work of the State Council, secretary of the Olympic Council under RF President Alexei Kulakovsky.

Barcelona chief architect Jose Asebillo and mayor of Belville – the Universiade-2009 village in Belgrade Ranko Tarasevich are in Kazan these days with the purpose to hold consultations.

KAMAZ-Master team crew led by Vladimir Chagin won in the 6th lap of Silk Road-2009 rally-raid. KAMAZ truck number 204 covered the 514 kilometres long special stage in 5 hours 29 minutes.

Oil recovery in Tatarstan is compensated for by replenishing its reserves, which are by the year becoming increasingly hard to produce. The data was presented by the Tatnipineft, part of Tatneft, director Ravil Ibatullin at an international workshop Innovative Technologies in Geology and Development of Hydrocarbons. Owing to innovative technologies, the reserves earlier considered unconventional and unprofitable are now considered suitable for recovery.

September 10, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev presented Vladimir Kirshin, the Head of the investigative department of the Committee of inquiry under RF public prosecutor's office in RT with general’s shoulder straps, conforming to the class ranking of the second class state counsellor-at-law at the Kazan Kremlin.
