March 20, 2008, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, signed the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan “On investment of state powers in the sphere of care and guardianship on institutions of local self-government of municipal formations of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

March 17, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Head of the Federal Agency for Industry of the Russian Federation Andrei Dutov and Director General of OAO "United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom" Andrei Reus.

In the evening of March 9, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, attended the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the King Faisal International Prize. March 8, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev flew off to Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a working visit.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev presented gifts and certificates to the winners of the Annual republican contest “The Woman of the Year.
