RF President Vladimir Putin discussed with RT President Mintimer Shaimiev the preparation for celebrations of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan in August this year. M. Shaimiev called the Kazan Metro opening the main event within the preparation works. He also said to V. Putin that on January 1, 2005 the program on dilapidated housing liquidation was accomplished. According to M. Shaimiev, as many as 49 thousand families received new flats. Besides, the RT President noted that on January 1 the new program for social mortgage started. It remarkably differs in its conditions from the Russian national mortgage program: the loan is given for 27.5 years at 8% per year interest.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan addressed women on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8th.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev by already developed good tradition received women from all republic at the Kazan cultural - entertaining complex "Pyramid". On the eve of International women's day he congratulated the best and as always a beautiful half of the republic, having wished ladies the most important - happiness, well-being and love.

The outcomes of social and economic development of Tatarstan in 2004 and tasks for 2005 was the subject of the expanded session of RT Ministry of Economy and Industry held today. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Chairman of State Council RT Farid Mukhametshin took part in the work of collegium.

Having become already a traditional before the International women's day a grand meeting of President of the Republic Mintimer Shaimiev with women of Tatarstan will take place on March 4 at "Pyramid".

The decree announced on Monday at final board of the RT ministry of economy and industry, was signed on March 3 by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev. The point is about Republican interdepartmental commission on adaptation of informal labour market and legalization of incomes.

On March 1 RT President Mintimer Shaimiev appointed Ildar Nigmedzyanov a Representative of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan.

The article, to be exact, the whole section in the bill developed today "On Entrails" which should be brought on consideration of the Government of the Russian Federation already in the middle of March, will be devoted to the tax on extraction of minerals (TEM) and, in particular, to its differentiation. The award ceremony of the best directors of republican companies was held on February 28 in the Cultural and Entertainment Complex "Pyramid". Twenty-three winners were chosen out of 260 applicants. The winners received gold breastplates "The Director of the Year" and certificates signed by the RT President. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, and Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin were present at the award ceremony.

Social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2004 and tasks for 2005 were a main topic of discussion during the enlarged session of the board of the Ministry of Economy and Industry on February 28. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, and Chairman of the RT State Council took part in the work of the board. The competitiveness of the economy of the whole country in many respects depends on the way the economy of Tatarstan would work, Mintimer Shaimiev said.
