The local government has made three drafts of a Cabinet of Ministers resolution, aimed to regulate issues related to providing high-quality housing and utilities service and devise related standards. The drafts are being debated by the municipalities. The Tatarstan Federation of Trade Unions chairwoman Tatiana Vodopianova has today told it to journalists before the federation council’s meeting dealing with implementing in 2009 a republican agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers, Tatarstan Association of Businesses and Businessmen and Tatarstan Commerce and Industry Chamber on conducting a socio-economic policy and promoting social partnership in 2007-2009.

March 22, the meeting on revival of the architectural monuments of the ancient town of Bolgar and the island city of Sviyazhsk took place at the Kazan Kremlin. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev conducted the meeting.

“Ambassadors of the Universiades” project will be realized in the republic. Its goal is presentation of the World Student Games-2013 by volunteers and young Tatarstan parliamentarians at large-scale international events.

Marat Bariev, Tatarstan Minister for Youth, Sports and Tourism, introduced this idea at the meeting with Ralf-René Weingaertner, Director for Sports and Youth at the Council of Europe. Initially, Tatarstan Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Tourism Andrei Kondratyev presented this idea to Mr Weingaertner at the forum in Strasburg last December.

International camp of volunteers “Toward Universiade-2013” will be held in Tatarstan in June 2010. A corresponding decision was made after the meeting of Tatarstan Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism, Marat Bariev and Director for Sports and Youth at the Council of Europe, Ralf-René Weingaertner.

Tatarstan National Museum celebrates its 115th anniversary this year. The jubilee year at the museum will begin from the charity event “Days of Gifts” on April 1-5. The museum will organize Doors Open Day on April 5. Entrance to the museum expositions will be free of charge on that day.

On march, 19 the Ibero-American Theater Festival kicks off in Bogotá. The Kazan actors are to show a play called “Takdir” staged by Spanish director Aleksandro Gonzales based on the piece “Life is a dream”. It is twice a year that the Ibero-American Theater Festival takes place with dozens of troupes from dramaturgy theatres from all over the world congregating there. As many as 2 million people visit it. Prior to this time, Russia has been represented at this international forum only by Moscow troupes, for instance, at the previous festival the troupe headed by Petr Fomenko performed a play there.
