The Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roustam Minnikhanov has attended a general meeting of founders and advisory board at the Executive Directorate of 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan independent non-profit organisation. The meeting, chaired by the head of Russian Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy ministry chief Vitaly Mutko, was held in Moscow.
The meeting of Australian Ambassador in Russia Ms Twoney and Archbishop of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy was held on the initiative of Ms Ambassador at the Eparchial Directorate on August 5. His Eminence showed the guests around the Kazan Theological Seminary.
A 24-hour relay race, held to set a Russian and a Guinness Book record on 100 metres, has completed in Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan.

A mass race that will continue for 24 hours has begun in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan. The city should thus beat Russia’s national and then the world record. The marathon is meant to support the Universiade 2013 sporting event in Kazan.
The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree giving state awards to 128 Russian nationals, prize winners at the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing.
August 4, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is on a working visit to the Orenburg Region where he is to take part in a meeting on agricultural issues. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will also take part in the meeting.

The Tatarstan Economy Ministry will submit to the government of Tatarstan a draft territorial economic policy that focuses on local economic regions and sets strategic goals and priorities, said today the ministry’s press service.
Grain yield made 1,028,400 tonnes in Tatarstan. 416.1 thousand hectares is thrashed which is 25 percent of harvesting areas. Average crop capacity is 24.7 quintals per hectare while last year it was 34.8, the RT Ministry of Agriculture and Food reports.
An Academy of Tennis and a multi-sport centre will be commissioned by the time an event called Russia a Sports Power begins, told a Business Monday staff meeting the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
“In general, Kazan should be built into Hollywood,” said in an interview Leonid Yarmolnik, a famous actor and producer who plays oligarch Boris Koscheyev in the in-production film titled The Most Real Fairy Tale.
