Beginning September, situation on Kazan's streets can be monitored at one of local TV channels. RT Ministry of internal affairs and JSC "Tattelekom" signed an agreement on implementing "Safe Tatarstan" project, which will set up live videosurveillance system for monitoring situation at the streets of Kazan. Beginning September, images will be broadcast at a special TV channel, accessible for all subscribers. Currently live video from 45 locations in Kazan can be accessed via www.tatmvdcamera.ru.

July 30, RT Ministry of agriculture and food supplies was visited by the Republic of Belarus delegation, headed the chief of foreign economic relations department from the RB ministry of agriculture and food supplies Mr.Yakov Pustoshilo.

July 30, Turkish ministry of healthcare delegation met colleagues from RT ministry. The meeting was attended by the RT minister of healthcare Ayrat Farrakhov, his deputies, headquarters employees, consul-general of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Akhmet Ergin.

July 30, the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan ministry of transport and road services had a preliminary meeting with representatives of Belarussian industries, producing transportation means and road servicing equipment.

On July 29 mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin met in the City Hall with a delegation of Braunschweig (Germany) to discuss issues of furthering partner relationships between our two cities. The official agreement on establishing friendly relationships between Kazan and Braunschweig was signed in 1988. 11 one or two year long programs were co-signed and implemented by the parties within 20 years of successful cooperation. All of them were directed at strengthening and development of partner relationships. In this period more the cities exchanged more than 40 delegation visits.

On July 24-28, Kazan's "Livadija" health resort hosted a working meeting of Inter-regional coordination councils of the ethnic Germans of Povolzhje and the Southern part of Russia. The meeting was conducted in the framework of the "German culture week" project, organized by the Russian Federation ministry of regional development together with an association of non-profit organizations "German house of the Republic of Tatarstan".

On August 4 and 5, the city of Naberezhnyje Chelny is to host a massive baton relay race in support of Kazan's Universiade-2013. For 24 hours, citizens, including heads of enterprizes and their employees, veterans of sports and sports families, will be running and passing the baton-stick, to be included into Guinness book of records as 24 hours long 100 meter baton relay race with highest participation.

Internet audience from Kazan is 4th among Russian cities - following Moscow, St.Petersburg and Ekaterinburg. The statement was made by Denis Khalaimov, Mail.Ru regional development director, at a press-conference dedicated to opening Mail.Ru sales office in Kazan.

President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed a Decree on holding the First National Sports Forum: Russia the Sports Power on 22-25 October 2009 in Kazan. The Decree was signed with a view of developing physical training and sports, cooperating in international sports, and encouraging the healthy lifestyle.
