On June 5 the Tatarstan parliament speaker Farid Moukhametshin and Russian Audit Chamber chairman Sergei Stepashin met at the premises of the Tatarstan’s State Council.
The opening of the 13th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum with participation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was held at the exhibition complex Lenexpo in St. Petersburg on June 5. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev leads the republican delegation at the forum.
The IBM development centre will be opened at the new IT technopark in Kazan. The agreement about it was signed today at the RT Cabinet of Ministers by RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and General Director of IBM Eastern Europe/Asia Kirill Korniliev. The development centre will be focused on creation of various programme solutions for Tatarstan economy needs involving among others Tatarstan experts.
KAMAZ trucks attracted a lot of interest at the traditional truck show TIR’2009 that has recently finished in Kiev. In spite of the still uneasy situation on Ukraine’s automobile market some agents of the KAMAZ commodity distribution network have found financial resources and resumed purchase of KAMAZ trucks.

The 7th All-Russian Bell-Ringing Festival ‘Alekseyevskoe Chimes’ held in the settlement of Alekseyevskoe, Tatarstan has come to the end. The organizers of the festival believe next year it should become international for a lot of applications from CIS and other countries were received this year.

The IX International Theatre Festival "Nauruz" opened Wednesday June 3 in Kazan. A ceremony of monument’s unveiling to one of the Tatar theatre founders – Ilyas Kudashev-Ashkazarsky was held at the hall of Tatar State Academy Theatre named after G. Kamal. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture Zilya Valeeva participated in the event.
