April 27, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with participants of the 6th Meeting of ministers of culture of the Shanghai organization of cooperation member and observer states (SCO).

FISU Secretary General Eric Saintrond and Director for the Summer Universiade Marc Vandelplas are to begin their visit to Tatarstan capital on April 27.
Participants of the fourth session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states’ ministers of culture arrived in Kazan on April 26. The first Vice-Premier of Tatarstan Ravil Muratov, Tatarstan Vice-Premier – minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva and other republican officials welcomed them at the airport.
Tatarstan education system is one of the most progressive in Russia. The Russian Federation Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko stated it at a meeting with the republican universities’ rectors on April 24 in Kazan.
The US-based Civilian Research and Development Foundation and Tatarstan’s Venture Investment Fund have today signed a memorandum of understanding within the 4th Venture Fair in Kazan.

The meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, and the Prime-minister of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, was held at the Kazan Kremlin on April 24.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Russian Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko at the Kazan Kremlin on April 24.

The Tatarstan-Saxony business forum has today opened in Tatarstan’s capital Kazan, at the Grand Hotel Kazan. Attendees at the ceremony were the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich. An agreement on setting up a Competence Centre for Machine Building/Production Equipment has been signed.
Traditional April Tukai readings will be held at Gabdulla Tukai Literary Museum on April 24. This year the reading will be devoted to contemporary views on the poet’s creativity studies, the press-service of Tatarstan National Museum informs.
