The World Winter Universiade Competitions in ice hockey among men finished on February 28 in Harbin, China. Russian team wrested the victory from Canadians in the final with the score 4:2.
Political creed of Kazan residents remains constant. Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin expressed such an opinion at the traditional "business Monday" meeting, where results of Tatarstan parliamentary election were summed up.

The press-conference following the elections of deputies to the RT State Council of the 4th convocation held the day before took place at the Kazan Kremlin on March 2nd. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the press-conference.
