The World Winter Universiade Competitions in ice hockey among men finished on February 28 in Harbin, China. Russian team wrested the victory from Canadians in the final with the score 4:2.
Political creed of Kazan residents remains constant. Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin expressed such an opinion at the traditional "business Monday" meeting, where results of Tatarstan parliamentary election were summed up.
The press-conference following the elections of deputies to the RT State Council of the 4th convocation held the day before took place at the Kazan Kremlin on March 2nd. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the press-conference.

«What we went through in the 90s is not going to happen under any circumstances," Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev told an IA Tatar-inform journalist after the meeting of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin with the United Russia leadership. The Co-chairman of the Higher Council of the United Russia party, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting.

Yemen is going to purchase fighters in Russia, President of that country Ali Abdullah Saleh declared. President Saleh also said that talks on purchasing Russian helicopters and boats are also underway. "We shall also continue cooperation with KAMAZ on purchasing their vehicles," he added.
Deputies of the National Assembly of France will visit Kazan on the day of elections to the Tatarstan State Council. During their two-day visit, the French members of parliament will have meetings with the leadership of the republic, visit the RT Central electoral commission, get acquainted with work of hot line of the RT Public Chamber.
February 25, RT Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Linar Latypov met with regional representative of the German Embassy in Russia, counsellor Jorg Kirsch.
February 25, Igor Nosov, the Head of the Territorial directorate of the RosSEZ in Tatarstan, had a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore in the Russian Federation Simon de Cruz.
