Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Cheremshan district, Tatarstan on August 26. The head of the republic was accompanied by Marat Ahmetov, the RT Deputy Prime-minister - Agriculture and Foodstuff Minister, Marat Khusnulin, the RT Construction, Architecture and Housing Minister, Talgat Abdullin, the Executive Director of the State Housing Foundation under the RT President, Shafagat Takhautdinov, the Director General of OAO "Tatneft", Minsagit Shakirov, the Head of the Cheremshan district.

The 16th International Conference of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences "Science,technology, innovation for sustainable development of the Islamic world" opened in Kazan on Monday. This scientific forum is being held in Russia for the first time. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, attended the conference.

August 21, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is visiting the Laishevsky municipal district where he is to take part in the republican pedagogical conference. This year, this August conference is also attended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Andrey Fursenko, as well as by Tatarstan Prime-minister Rustam Minnikhanov, State Council Deputy Chairman Aleksander Gusev and university rectors.
