August 29, the Kazan Kremlin, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev met with members of the Russian Olympic team - representatives of Tatarstan in the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing. At the meeting, sportsmen and their trainers were awarded state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan.
August 28, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, took part and delivered a speech in the meeting of the Chairman of the National Antiterrorist Committee, Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Aleksander Bortnikov, with heads of antiterrorist commissions of subjects of the Russian Federation of the Volga Federal District in Nizhny Novgorod.
President Mintimer Shaimiev is taking part in the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the urban-type village of Alekseyevskoe, Tatarstan.

The 16th International Conference of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences "Science,technology, innovation for sustainable development of the Islamic world" opened in Kazan on Monday. This scientific forum is being held in Russia for the first time. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, attended the conference.
August 21, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is visiting the Laishevsky municipal district where he is to take part in the republican pedagogical conference.
