The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, met with theDeputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Mezentsev, in the Kazan Kremlin on June 19.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, met with the Prime-minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Artur Tair ogly Rasizade, in the Kazan Kremlin on June 17.

June 16, Colonel General Vasily Smirnov, the Chief of the Main organizational-mobilization directorate - deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, presented the President of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, with a challenge pennant of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "To the Winner of the competition among the subjects of the Russian Federation for the best preparation of citizens of the Russian Federation for military service, organizing and drafting".

June 14, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with participants of the X World Russian Press Congress in the Kazan Kremlin. As many as 77 heads of Russian-language mass-media and journalists came to Kazan from 31 countries.

On June 11th, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met in Kazan Kremlin with President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Muhammad Ali.

Aleksei Gordeyev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, arrived in Tatarstan on June 10. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and RT Deputy Prime-minister-Agriculture and Food Minister Marat Akhmetov met the distinguished guest in the Kazan International Airport.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev presented medical assistant from the Aznakaevo district of Tatarstan Ramziya Gabidullina, the winner of the First republican competition "The Doctor of the year - Ak chachakler (White flowers)" in the nomination "Medical worker of the year", with a special gift.

June 10 saw the International Investment Conference opening in the Korston Complex in Kazan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, delivered a welcome speech at the plenary meeting of the conference that is held with the support of the Islamic Development Bank.

"Tatarstan is becoming an integral part of the globalizing world. It is important that in this process the republic is equally competing with other big market participants," Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev commented on signing the agreement on creation of the joint venture of Sollers (the new name of Severstal-Auto) and the Italian automobile giant Fiat Group. The signing ceremony took place on June 7 as part of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

Prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the World Bank were in the highlight at the business lunch of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Managing Director of the World Bank, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on June 7. The meeting took place in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
