The article of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev under heading «Poet of courage» devoted to 100-anniversary from birthday of poet - hero Musa Dzhalil is published in the supplement «Literary Tatarstan» to last issue of the oldest Russian edition «Literaturnaya gazeta».

On February 10, President of the Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev signed three laws of RT, providing privileges to companies-residents of the special economic zone “Alabuga” established in Elabuga region of RT, for the period of 10 years. The above organisations are freed from transport tax and property tax. Also they get lowered income tax rate paid to the republic’s budget down to 13.5%. The laws come into force since January, 1, 2005.

On February 7, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with the USA Ambassador to the RF William Burns in Kazan Kremlin.

On February 3, professor Akhmet Mazgarov was elected the new President of Academy of Sciences (AS) of the Republic of Tatarstan at extraordinary general assembly of RT AS.
