On January 27, the first session of RT Public Chamber was held in Kazan Kremlin. The President of the Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in it by the invitation of the Chamber. “New and extraordinary action is happening in public life of our republic: the start is being given to the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan”, - Mintimer Shaimiev said opening the session.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held meeting with grant-aided students of special RT state grant on the occasion of Day of Russian students in the Kazan Kremlin.

The session of the Board of Guardians of the State housing fund took place in the Representation building of the Kazan Kremlin under presidency of the head of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.

Despite of some cuts in gas consumption made by Tatarstan , the industry of republic will work trouble-free. It is stated today by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev during session of the Board of guardians of the State housing fund under RT President.

On January 24, the academician of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, the deserved scientist of Russian Federation Igor Tarchevsky turned 75 years. President of Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated the famous academician on the jubilee.

Today, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met team of “Kamaz-Master”, the winners in rally “Lisbon-Dakar-2006”, in Kazan Kremlin.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated, director general of JSC “KAMAZ” S.A.Kogogin , chief of “Kamaz-Master” crew S.S.Yakubov and personnel of “Kamaz” on victory in rally “Lisbon-Dakar-2006”.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held meeting in the Kremlin on results of social and economic development of Republic Tatarstan in 2005 and put tasks before the Government for 2006.

The Kazan Kremlin, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received the delegation of the Amur region led by governor Leonid Korotkov. During a meeting between administration of the Amur region and Government of Republic Tatarstan the Agreement on trade - economic, scientific and technical, social - cultural cooperation was signed.

Today, on a final day of stay in Kazakhstan, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took part in negotiations between Russian and Kazakhstan delegations on broad range of issues, held in Astana within the framework of working visit by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, informs the RT President's press centre.
