President of Republic Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took off for Astana to take part in official inauguration ceremony of President of Republic Kazakhstan Noursultan Nazarbaev.

This day during many centuries in territory of our republic sound solemn azans and namazes, announcing about approach of a holiday of Sacrifice and ending of pilgrimage to holy Muslim places. A special meaning fills up words - revelations: « what you have - share with the near, and the same will be rendered to you». Personifying spiritual - moral qualities, historical traditions and national customs of peoples professing Islam, Kurban-bairam calls people to show mercy, to be tolerant, to respect each other.

Dear Tatarstaners!
The outgoing year first of all remains in our memory as a year of 1000-anniversary of Kazan city. Our capital has appeared before all the world as ancient and at the same time dynamically developing, modern city. The republic manifested to guests of the anniversary its uniqueness where interests of different peoples and faiths are harmoniously combined. It is our invaluable riches which need to be valued, especially against a background of ethno-confessional conflict from time to time flashing in different parts of the world. Anniversary of Kazan has shown as well historical sources of the Russian Federation, the contribution of many peoples in becoming its statehood.

On December 28, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated young participants of traditional New Year party, held at sport complex “Basket-Hall”, – talented children, the best pupils, winners of various creative contests and festivals, kids from orphanages and boarding schools, activists of youth organisations from all over the republic with the coming New 2006 Year.

Kazan Kremlin, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev delivered State rewards of Tatarstan and RF Government for 2005 year in the field of science and engineering.

During a press conference the head of republic answered almost two ten questions. In the opening address he reminded of scale events which had taken place this year: 60-anniversary of the Great Patriotic war and 1000-anniversary of Kazan, summed up municipal elections past in October, informed about the main economic achievements of Tatarstan, the planned vistas of implementing national projects sounded by the President of Russia, in our republic.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev during press conference in the Kazan Kremlin devoted to the year results told about prospects of mortgage crediting in Tatarstan.

“There should be no room for any phobias in the society - neither Islamic, nor Christian, neither to great Russian chauvinism, nor any another one touching confessional -national spectrum of our life”, - President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev said at press conference in the Kazan Kremlin devoted to social - economic and political results of 2005.

The volume of gross regional product in Tatarstan by results of 2005 may exceed 500 billion roubles, that in comparable prices approximately by 6,5 percent is higher than a last year's parameter. The volume of industrial turnout may achieve 480 billion roubles, that 4,4 percent is more a last year's parameter. Such a forecast was made today at press conference held by President Mintimer Shaimiev at the Kazan Kremlin devoted to results of past year.
