President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held meeting in Elabuga region on results of the work of Tatarstan oil companies for the first half-year of 2005 and measures on raising their competitiveness.

Deserving a wide spreading named the RT Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov experience of Tatarstan in the field of implementing international and foreign economic relations.

On July 5, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting with Japanese “Fujitsu” company’s Board Chairman Naoyuki Akikusa. One of the topics of their discussion was perspectives of Kazan company “ICL-KПО ВС ”,of which “Fujitsu” is the major shareholder – one of the world biggest producer of computers, software and communications equipment.

President has been satisfied by the winter rye and pea. A detailed discussion about the machinery preparation to the harvesting campaign, provision the farms with fuels and lubricants and other topical problems of village was also held in the field.

On July 4, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev is on a work trip to Atninsky region of Tatarstan.

President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the first session of Council under Plenipotentiary Representative of President of Russia in the Volga federal district held in Nizhni Novgorod.

On June 12 by Decree of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin a military rank of the general - lieutenant was assigned to head of department of Federal Security service of the Russian Federation on Tatarstan Eugeny Vdovin.

Issues of agriculture complex and sanitary-ecological situation improvement in Tatarstan were discussed at the Republic seminar-session on June, 29 in Zainsk town.

A letter of thanks addressed to RT President M.Shaimiev from Ambassadors of the Arab states-recent participants of II International Congress «Islamic culture in the Volga-Ural region» and Kul Sharif mosque opening ceremonies was received. It has been noted in the message that they were deeply impressed by the time spent in Kazan and meeting with RT President.

President Mintimer Shaimiev attended Sabantui of the Moscow city district of capital and on its own behalf, RT Government and State Council warmly congratulated the guests and participants. The official part of Sabantui traditionally began from congratulations. The head of city district administration Guzaliya Minkina passed a word to President Mintimer Shaimiev. Welcoming participants of Sabantui he briefly reminded of original roots of a holiday loved by all which starts marching across the republic from the first Sunday of June in all villages, cities, settlements, irrespective of their size.
