On February 24, the RT Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing summed up the results of 2004 and set tasks for this year. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, who took part in the meeting, believes that without large-scale construction further growth of industrial output cannot be ensured. If new building is going on, it means that everything is fine in the republic.

On February 22, a session of the Presidium of the State Council of the Russian Federation led by President of Russia Vladimir Putin was held in Zhukovskoye, near Moscow. President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the session. "On the state and prospects of the development of the Russian aviation-industrial complex " will be the main issue to be considered by the participants of the session. Leaders of the working group of the State Council of the Russian Federation, Head of the administration of the Voronezh oblast Vladimir Kulakov and Minister of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation Viktor Khristenko will deliver their reports.

Today, on February 21, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev held a working meeting in the Kazan Kremlin dedicated to the preparation for celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the foundation of Kazan. The course of realisation of publishing projects connected with the city's 1000th anniversary was in the focus. Issues of information covering of the anniversary celebrations and in particular the organisation of the International Press-centre were also discussed.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan issued a decree dismissing N. Khabipov from the post of head of the administration of Bavly district and the town of Bavly, the Republic of Tatarstan. A. Khabibullin was appointed head of Bavly district and the town of Bavly, the Republic of Tatarstan.
On February 18, the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev visits Bavly district, Tatarstan.
The program of the working visit includes participation in the session of the Bavly Council of People's Deputies.

February 15 saw a recital devoted to the 70th anniversary of the prominent Tatar singer Ilgam Shakirov taking place in the G. Kamal State Academic Theatre. President Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin and RT Deputy Prime Minister Zilya Valeyeva came to congratulate the singer, whose legendary name had become known a quarter of a century ago.

On February 15, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev received Commander of the Volga-Ural military district General of the Army Vladimir Boldyrev. The interlocutors discussed issues of defence of the country, a role of the Volga-Ural district in the system of the Russian defence, issues of social protection of military personnel.
Prospective directions of cooperation and ways of increasing of the trade turnover between Tatarstan and the Netherlands were in the focus at the meeting of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Russian Federation Tiddo Hofstee on February 15 in the Kazan Kremlin.

Prospects of development of cultural and economic cooperation of Tatarstan and Sweden were discussed on February 7 at a meeting of President of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Russian Federation H.E. Johan Molander.
Building of bridges between Tatarstan and the Kirov oblast in both literal and figurative senses was discussed at a meeting of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and Governor of the Kirov oblast Nikolai Shaklein in the Kazan Kremlin on February 5. Mintimer Shaymiev noticed that Tatarstan and the Kirov oblast have had eternal neighbouring relations and emphasised that the economies of the regions are poorly integrated into each other. The head of the republic said that they should contribute to deepen mutual beneficial cooperation.
