Today saw the All-Russia zone meeting on problems of development of a building complex in the Russian Federation till 2010 start working in Kazan. More than 250 heads of krais, oblasts, and also building organisations and enterprises of building industry, led by Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Vladimir Jakovlev, arrived in the capital of Tatarstan from the central and southern zones of the Russian Federation.

A letter of Mr. V. Kalamanov, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to UNESCO, saying that the 32-nd session of UNESCO’s General Conference passed the resolution “1000-anniversary of the founding of the city of Kazan”, and that the anniversary of Kazan is inscribed in UNESCO’s Calendar of memorial dates, was received in the name of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.

RT President M. Shaimiev received a telegram of congratulation on the Day of Workers of Agriculture and Processing Industry from A. September 20, at the Column hall of the House of Unions III Congress of the political party "United Russia" took place. The delegates of the congress have generated lists of candidates to the State Duma of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and discussed the party program on development of Russia for the nearest four years. In the Presidium of the Congress elected were Chairman of the supreme council of the party Boris Gryzlov, co-chairmen of the supreme council the RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, Moscow Mayor Jury Luzhkov, the RF Emergency Minister Sergey Shojgu.

September 15, 2003, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan enacted law on introducing amendments and addenda into articles 69, 70, and 88 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan. Under the enactment, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan will consist of 100 deputies, the part of which will work on a constant basis. A special law will establish the number of those deputies.

As it was reported, Bugulma and Almetyevsk saw the Celebration of the 60-th Anniversary of Tatarstan Oil, held on September, 5-6. Karabash village was the last place in Bugulma district which President Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy Prime Minister Zilya Valeeva, Director General of the JSC “Tatneft” and others visited.

According to the established good tradition the First persons of the republic congratulated Tatarstan pupils and students on the beginning of new academic year. On Day of knowledge, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev became the guest of honour at the Kazan state pedagogical university.

September 6-7, celebratory actions on the occasion of the Day of city were held in Moscow . Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev sent to Moscow mayor Jury Luzhkov a telegram of congratulation, in which he wished all Muscovites health and happiness, and to the capital - one of the greatest cities in the world - prosperity.

Cultural - sports holiday devoted to Day of Republic, to Day of city and opening the First summer sports Games of pupils of Russia was held at the Central stadium of Kazan, August 30. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated Tatarstanians and the guests on 13-th anniversary of acceptance of Declaration on the state sovereignty of Republic Tatarstan and Day of city, wished good luck happiness, well-being and health.

The square near G. Kamal theatre became one of the central celebration platforms on August 30. The best creative forces made their performance, here have gathered thousands of Kazaners and guests of the capital, the square was singing and dancing together with their beloved artists. On a water smooth surface of Kaban lake by the walking steam-ship to the square has moored the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev with the guests, people met them with applause.
