On July 13, a workshop meeting has been held in Tatarstan’s Laishevo region on implementing anti-recession measures for the purpose of intensifying agriculture industry’s efficiency, bringing together the industry’s staff and scientific and engineering potential to store feed stuff and carry out a successful harvest in 2009. President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev attended the session.

On July 12 a three-day visit began to the capital of Tatarstan of the UN committee member on narcotics control, Professor of Psychiatrics and International Medicinal Policy of London University Mr. Hamid Godse, once being in charge of that Board. In the course of the visit Mr. Hamid Godse is intending to meet RT Deputy Prime Minister Mrs. Zilya Valeeva, RT Ministry of Health executives, representatives of Kazan Psychiatric School, as well as The Virgin Monastery of Raifa, Sviyazhsk Island, State Drama Theatre named after M. Dzhalil.

On July 11 at RT State Council there was a meeting of Public Youth Board, functioning under the republic Parliament. Vice Chairperson of State Council Mrs. Rima Ratnikova participated at the meeting. The agenda of the young lawmakers mainly covered organizational issues.

The Schneider Electric closed joint-stock company, a Schneider Electric concern’s subsidiary, and Nizhnekamsk-based open joint-stock company Taneko have signed a frame agreement on cooperation until 2012. The signatories were Schneider Electric general director Laszlo Markotan and Taneko general director Khamza Bagmanov. The agreement stipulates using SE equipment at the oil refining and petrochemical complex under construction in Nizhnekamsk.

July 10, Russian First Vice Premier Igor Shuvalov visited one of Russia’s largest petrochemical companies OAO Kazanorgsintez where together with Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev he took part in the meeting on issues of development of the petrochemical complex of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Igor Shuvalov, the Russian First Vice-Premier, Chairman of the organizational committee of the Universiade 2013, and members of the Russian Government evaluated the construction rate of sport venues in Kazan.
RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RF Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Minister Vitaly Mutko, RF Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko, Head of the Olympic Committee of Russia Leonid Tyagachev, Head of the Russian Sport Student Union Oleg Matytsin, Head of the RF State Duma Committee for physical culture and sport Anton Sikharulidze, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the inspection of the sport venues.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Microsoft Russia President Nikolai Pryanishnikov.
Participation of Microsoft corporation in preparation and organization of the Universiade in Kazan was discussed at the meeting. Nikolai Pryanishnikov emphasized that cooperation between Microsoft company and Tatarstan is efficient.

Russian Government First Deputy Chairman Igor Shuvalov will hold a session of the organizing committee for preparation and organization of the World Summer Universiade-2013 on July 10.

Five Greenfield projects of the Universiade-2013 will be put into operation this year.
