On December 15, the 3rd All-Russian UNESCO Chair Congress was held at the National Mineral Resources University in St. Petersburg. Grigory Ordzhonikidze, Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, read out a welcome message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed to participants of the congress.
On December 14, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a plenary session of the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum devoted to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO.
On December 13, Tatarstan delegation headed by State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of trustees of “Revival” Regional Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev arrived in St. Petersburg to take part in the 4th international cultural forum dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO. Solemn opening of the forum was held in the General Staff Building of the State Hermitage Museum.
On December 1, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and coordinator of “Russia-Islamic world” strategic vision group Veniamin Popov shared opinions about activity of the group headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and discussed current challenges.
On December 1, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met first deputy Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, film director and people’s artist of Russia Klim Lavrentiev, who arrived in Kazan to take part in a conference of regional branch of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.
On November 30, at their meeting at the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counsellor Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Revival Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev and Chairman of Russian Election Commission discussed issues related to preparing the election of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 7th convocation to take place in Russia on the single voting day, September 18, 2016.
On November 25, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Director of museum reserve Kazan Kremlin Zilya Valeeva arrived in Yekaterinburg to take part in opening of Yeltsin Presidential Center.
On November 23, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of trustees of the “Revival” Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on the implementation of the complex project “Cultural heritage: ancient Bolgar and island town of Sviyazhsk” in 2016.
A solemn session of the Academic Council of Kazan Federal University (KFU) dedicated to the foundation of the university was held On November 20. During the session the State Counsellor and first President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev was awarded a honorary title “Doctor Honoris Causa of Kazan Federal University”.
On November 20, at the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of guardians of the Revival Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with famous Russian author, playwright and historian Edward Radzinsky.
