On August 28, in Sviyazhsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill, Head of Zelenodolsk region of the republic Mikhail Afanasiev Archpastors, priests and laity of Tatarstan Metropolis took part in the celebrations on the 25th anniversary of the revival of the Virgin Assumption Monastery.
On 2 August, speaking at the plenary session of the VIII convention of the World Congress of Tatars held at the International Exhibition Center Kazan Expo, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated its participants with the 30th anniversary of establishment of the World Congress of Tatars.
On 21 July Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, who is also the Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Regional Revival Fund, took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to 443th anniversary of appropriation of the Kazan Virgin Icon held in the reconstructed Cathedral of the Kazan Virgin Icon after the Divine Liturgy.
On 25 June Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhanetshin attended a lying in repose of the outstanding state and political leader Fatikh Sibagatullin.
On 23 June in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Governor of Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev, where he showed him the exposition of work of the Regional Revival Fund in preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
On 19 June Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and the honorary guest - the Governor of Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and regional Minister of Agriculture Marat Zyabbarov attended the Tatar national holiday of Sabantuy in Kazan.
On 6 June, on the Day of Russian Language and 223d birthday of Aleksandr Pushkin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Russian classical poet by the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan. Also participating in the ceremony was the Chairman of the Regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin.
On June 3, at the Korston Entertainment Complex, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the amelioration system in Tatarstan.
Before the start of the event, he got acquainted with the photo exhibition "History of the development of land amelioration system in Tatarstan", located in the hall of the ballroom. The guests of the festival - representatives of state bodies, relevant ministries and departments of the republic, as well as veterans and employees of the industry watched a documentary film "100 years of the land amelioration system in Tatarstan”.
Director General of Tatmelioratsia Trust Company Rustem Sungatullin opened the anniversary event and informed about the history, traditions and current activities of the industry.
On 2 June upon his arrival to the Interactive multimedia complex “Sharyk Club” in Kazan, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev was met by the Chief Artistic Director of the Tatar State Academic Theatre after Kamal Farid Bikchantayev and the Director of the theater Ilfir Yakupov, who showed Mintimer Shaimiev interactive rooms of the new complex organized in a historical building in Tatarstan Street, which in 1907-1917 was the Sharyk (Oriental) Club – a communication club for Tatar youth.
On 21 May Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev , the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the regional Deputy Prime Minister – the Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaykhraziyev and representatives of various confessions took part in a traditional ceremonial event the Izge Bolgar zhiyeny held in the Ancient town of Bolgar, and which this year is dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
