Traditional celebration of the national Tatar holiday Sabatui took place in 48 Russian regions in June.
In the framework of the Tatarstan-Kuwait cooperation the visit of spouses of high-ranking politicians and diplomats of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Tatarstan is taking place on June 18-23.
The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan is hosting the Russian-Canadian seminar “Modern tendencies in the development of federative relationship in Canada and the Russian Federation” on June 18. Experts from Canada are taking part in the seminar.
The preparation for the International Islamic Business and Finance Summit, to be held in Kazan on 25-26 June, is in progress.

The Tatarstan Prime minister Roustam Minnikahnov has toured the Alkeyev municipal district.
The targets set for Tatarstan’s smaller oil companies, stipulating recovery of 6.7 million tonnes of oil in 2009 and drilling 206 thousand metres in wells, remain unchanged, told a staff meeting the Nefteconsortium’s general director Fanis Valiev. The meeting was chaired by the advisor to the President of Tatarstan on oil, gas, energy and the environment Irina Larochkina.
Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and housing Marat Khusnullin is visiting Austria. During the visit, he is planned to discuss opportunities for cooperation between Austria and Tatarstan and the oncoming presentation of Tatarstan companies in Austria which is scheduled for the autumn of 2009.
The Kazan International Airport continues to broaden the geography of flights. Direct regular flights from Kazan to Tel-Aviv, Israel by Tatarstan Airlines will be launched on June 21. Boeing-737 will fly to Tel-Aviv every Sunday.
The 8th International scientific and technical conference of young experts in compressor equipment dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Vladimir Shnepp, the founder of NIIturbocompressor, opened in Kazan on June 17.
