Mintimer Shaimiev: Kazan is going through the crisis easier than other cities

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Kazan activists on February 16. Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, members of the RT Government, heads of the city executive committee and representatives of city enterprises took part in the meeting.

February 17, Tatarstan's official delegation led by Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov is going on a visit to Harbin, China to take part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Universiade 2009. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, a member of the delegation, during the opening days of the Universiade in Harbin a meeting of the Organizing committee of Universiade 2013 and a meeting of the FISU commission chaired by George Killian will be held.
More than 21 thousand citizens of Kazan on Ski Track of Russia
The All-Russian cross-country skiing competition 'Ski Track of Russia 2009' was held in Kazan on February 15th. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin said today at the meeting in the city administration that as many as 21 thousand people took part in the competition.

On the second day of his visit to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Turkish President Abdullah Gul visited Kazan State University where he received a Diploma of Doctor of Honour of Kazan State University.

President of Turkey and President of Tatarstan have had talks at the Kazan Kremlin

The talks between President of Turkey Abdullah Gul and Mintimer Shaimiev took place at the Kazan Kremlin. It was followed by an extended meeting with participation of members of the Turkish delegation and Tatarstan representatives.
After the meeting, the President of Turkey was taken around the Kazan Kremlin.
Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum has opened in Kazan
Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the opening of the Tatarstan-Turkish Business-Forum that followed the Turkish President's acquaintance with the exhibition of economic and industrial potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.
President of Turkey has arrived in Kazan
Abdullah Gul, the President of the Republic of Turkey, arrived in Kazan on a two-day visit as part of his state visit to the Russian Federation. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin met the honored guest at the airport.
Tatarstan to receive financial aid from Russia’s Employment Service
The Federal Labour and Employment Service is within five days to provide a first tranche in the amount of 446 million roubles, aimed to decrease tensions on the job market, said the deputy employment minister Clara Tazetdinova at a meeting with a focus on enhancing the living standard.
