Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Grigory Rapota, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RF President in the Volga Federal District, on February 11 at the Kazan Kremlin.

February 11, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with Vladimir Churov, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, at the Kazan Kremlin.

February 10, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev attended a meeting of the Governmental commission on increasing stability of Russian economic development held by First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov in the House of Government in Moscow. The participants of the meeting foucsed on measures aimed at improving the situation in the real sector of economy.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting of the Republican Council on charitable activities at the Kazan Kremlin on February 9.

On February 7th, on the threshold of the Day of Science, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Arbuzov Institute of organic and physical chemistry (IOPC) of the Kazan scientific centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The head of the republic was accompanied by RT First Vice-Premier Ravil Muratov, Deputy Chairman of the RT State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, heads of Tatarstan's chemical enterprises. IOPC Director Oleg Sinyashin showed the President around the institute.
