The visit of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev in the Middle East countries as a member of Russian delegation headed by RF President Vladimir Putin continues. On February 12 he discussed with Qatar minister of finance Usef Husein Kamal perspectives of cooperation between Tatarstan and Qatar.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in a business forum in Al-Riyad with participation of Russian and Saudi Arabian businessmen that is held within the framework of Middle East Tour of Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

International award of King Faisal was presented to Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev in Al-Riyad. King of Saudi Arabia Abdalla Ibn Abdel-Azis handed the award to Mintimer Shaimiev in presence of Vladimir Putin. Mintimer Shaimiev is going to direct to charity the money component of it – 200 thousand USD.

Kazan becomes the location of 2 major international forums: annual assembly of Managers Council of European Bank of Reconstruction and Development is held on May 20-21 and Russian-Swiss Business Summit – on October 15. This was announced at the meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Swiss Confederation to Russian Federation Ervin Hover.

February 8, the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received the delegation of the Swiss Confederation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Mr. Erwin Hofer.
The participants of the meeting discussed prospects of Tatarstan’s economic development, issues related to attracting foreign investments, as well as broadening of trade-economic and cultural cooperation between Switzerland and Tatarstan.

A letter addressed to RT President Mintimer Shaimiev was received from chairman of All-Russia Invalids Public Organization in Afghanistan Andrey Chepurniy. The letter expresses gratitude to the republic leadership for support and practical help, hope for future interaction and cooperation.

Third session of strategic vision group «Russia – Islamic world» opened in Istanbul. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is a co-chairman of the meeting.

A session of RT ministry of economy and industry collegium took place in “Ak Bars” center on January 29. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received in his Kremlin residence Count Petr Sheremetev – the descendant of an ancient gentry clan, numerous representatives of which contributed to establishment and development of Russian statehood. The sides discussed the issues of further cooperation of Tatarstan and France in cultural field.
