Mintimer Shaimiev met with the best students of Tatarstan

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with the scholars of RT State scholarship for students and post-graduates of higher educational institutions and colleges on January 25. RT minister of youth affairs, tourism and sport Marat Bariev, RT minister of science and education Rais Shaikhelislamov, rectors of universities and colleges of Tatarstan took part in the meeting.

Mintimer Shaimiev, ‘Ak Bars is doomed for considerable responsibility’

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with the owners of European ice-Hockey Champions Cup – 2007 – “Ak Bars” hockey club. Kazan city mayor Ilsur Metshin, the president of “Ak Bars” club director general of “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, chief coach of the club Zinnatulla Bilyaletdinov, and all the players of the main staff took part in the meeting.

President of Russian Federation arrived in Kazan

The President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived in Tatarstan capital to take part in the session of the Presidium of RF State Council, where issues concerning construction of available accommodation for wellfare groups of population will be discussed.

Vladimir Putin: “The housing issue is one of the key issues that determines the level of quality of life of people”

Chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, a session of the RF State Council Presidium on issues of reforming the housing complex and construction of affordable housing took place in Kazan. By the order of Russian president Vladimir Putin, Mintimer Shaimiev had headed the working group on preparation of the session of the RF State Council Presidium. In his report to the participants of the meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev marked that as many as 22 RF subjects had made constructive proposals. He focused on three key questions: affordability of housing, reforming the hosing and utilities infrastructure and overhaul of residential properties.

Tatarstan president wins King Faisal International Prize

Mintimer Shaimiev has won the King Faisal International Prize in the Service to Islam nomination, said Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of the Saudi Asir province and Director General of the King Faisal Foundation. Shaimiev has done a lot for the revival of Islamic culture, as well as for teaching Islamic principles and canons in Tatarstan, he said.

Tatarstan firmly enters five of Russian best regions-participants of Russia’s 100 best goods programme

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received a letter from the Director of the programme “100 best goods of Russia”, Mr. A. Chelyukanov, saying that the interregional social organization “Academy of quality problems” and the directorship of the programme “100 best goods of Russia” summed up the results of the federal stage of the All-Russian competition, held under the programme “100 best goods of Russia” of 2006. For the last 5 years, the Republic of Tatarstan has been among the five best regions of the Russian Federation – participants of the programme. Republican companies have received the highest awards every year.
