The first serial plane Tu-214 made by the Kazan Aviation Industrial Association (KAPO) was solemnly passed to the customer - Khabarovsk enterprise "Dalavia". The plane is equipped with two airengines PC-90A made by the joint-stock company "Perm motors" and is designed for transportation of 164 passengers with range ability of 7.200 km.
At the meeting held May 22 at KAPO, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated the enterprise on realization of the project Tu-214.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev resigned from the membership in the Council of Federation. The resignation is based on the law "On the Order of Formation of the Council of Federation". In accordance with the law the re-elected head of the region is obliged to leave the post of a senator.

The relations of ОАО "ICL - KPO VS", Japanese concern "Fujitsu" and British firm "ICL" have come to the next stage of cooperation. Probably, the Kazan enterprise will change its name to "Fujitsu - KPO VS", that means more support from Japanese partners and development of its possibilities.
The issue was discussed at the meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev with delegation led by chairman of "ICL PLC" Board of directors, vice-president of "Fujitsu" Michio Naruto on May 15 in the Kazan Kremlin. The meeting was held within the framework of the two-day visit of the Japanese businessmen to Tatarstan.

May 10, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev said that Great Britain made an important contribution to our common victory over the German fascism, during the meeting with the British delegation " Russian escort Club" in the Kazan Kremlin. The veterans of the Second World War who had navigated and accompanied the ship delivering to the Soviet Union military engineering, weapons and other goods from the allies, arrived at Tatarstan for celebration of Victory Day.
