Today RТ President Mintimer Shaimiev and president of ОАО "Gazprom" Rem Vyakhirev have signed a cooperation agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and ОАО "Gazprom" for five years.

Within two days the III Republican Student Congress in Kazan tackled issues of social protection, employment, housing conditions of students, role of public organizations, conditions for scientific activity and other. The plenary session was held on March 21 with participation of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.

March 15, the delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran led by President Seid Mohammad Hatami arrived in Kazan . The delegation consisted of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran Kamal Harrazi , Minister of Defense and armed forces rear admiral Ali Shamhani , the chapter of administration of President Mohammed Ali Abtahi, Exraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Islamic Republic Iran to Russian Federation Mehdi Safari, other officials.
At the international airport " Kazan " the Iranian delegation was met by the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, RT PM Rustam Minnekhanov , RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin , members of the Government, heads of the ministries and departments.

Under Ilya Klebanova's presidency, vice-premier of the Government of Russia, the regular session of Kamaz Board of directors" was held. The President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took part in its work.

On March 11 RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met the Republican businessmen. Tatarstan representatives of middle and small business came to the Kazan Kremlin to talk with the authority.

These days RT President Mintimer Shaimiev is receiving congratulatory telegrams devoted to the holiday Kurban-bairam.

On March 6, a holiday prayer devoted to the sacred Moslem holiday Kurban-bairam was performed in Kul Sharif Mosque by Moslem priests - imams, kazies (Moslem judges) and other representatives of Tatarstan religious community.
Before it Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev received the Moslem clergy, who marked positive changes for the last three years after the united congress of Tatarstan Moslems.
