A monument to the victims of political repressions and exhibition dedicated to Sviyazhsk prisoners of the XXth century opened on island-town Sviyazhsk on October 30. The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor of RT, Chairman of board of guardians of the Republican Fund for RT Historical and Cultural Monuments Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the ceremony.
The opening of the buildings of the Dormition of the Mother of God Monastery and the Trinity Church of the John the Baptist Monastery were opened after renovation and restoration in Sviyazhsk, Tatarstan on September 3. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and ministers and heads of agencies as well as residents of the island attended the ceremony,
A ceremony of laying a symbolic stone in the construction of a mosque and a chapel, to remember the victims of the Bulgaria shipwreck, has today been held in the village Sukeevsky Vzvoz (Kamskoe Ustie region). Russia transport minister, Tatarstan President, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Tatarstan Religious board chairman, St Nicholas Cathedral superior and relatives of Bulgaria victims were present during the event.
Today, the Education Center for school-aged and preschool children opened in Sviyazhsk. Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Republican Foundation Vozrozhdeniye (Revival) Mintimer Shaimiev attended the opening ceremony.
A festive ceremony of handing state awards named after G.Tukai - 2011 has taken place in Kazan city. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed out the highest awards of Tatarstan Republic for achievements in the sphere of culture and art. State counselor of RT Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in a ceremony.

The Republic of Tatarstan should regain its lost leading positions in horse breeding. Such a mission was set by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the conference on the situation and prospects of horse breeding and horseracing development in Tatarstan. The conference was held in Kazan. Session of Anti-corruption Council at RT President chaired by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov has been held in House of RT Government. State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov attended the session. Heads of municipalities, territorial departments of federal tax service, law enforcement bodies, representatives of self-regulated organizations, arbitrary executives and others took part in the session in format of video conference.
Today, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Senior Advisor of the Strategic Research Institute Mitsui Takehiro Togo who had already visited Tatarstan several times and met Minimer Shaimiev both as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia and Senior Advisor of the Strategic Research Institute Mitsui.
July 22, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the island town of Sviyazhsk where he attended the opening of the River Port and visited the new museum storage. Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Russian Deputy Culture Minister Konstantin Cherepennikov and other officials also were in Sviyazhsk with the President.
