Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs Asgat Safarov met with a delegation of Germany’s federal Internal Affairs Ministry. Issues of cooperation and experience exchange on counteraction to Islamic extremism were discussed at the meeting.
An inter-government protocol on measures on cooperation development in 2009-2010 was signed on January 21 in Minsk between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia). Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky signed the document.
January 21, Tatarstan and the Gomel Region, Belarus, signed a memorandum of cooperation on trade, economy, science and technology. The document was endorsed by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Gomel Executive Committee chief Alexander Yakobsson.

January 21, the enlarged meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan was held with the participation of Farid Mukhametshin, the Chairman of the RT State Council. The meeting was devoted to the results of the operative-serving activity in 2008.
January 20, the final board of the Territorial Office of the Federal Service of State Statistics in the Republic of Tatarstan (Tatstat) and RT Committee for Social-Economic Monitoring was held with the participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan. During the meeting the Head of Tatarstan Government appreciated the role of information technologies in the activity of the Sate statistics institutions.
In spite of the difficult economic situation the innovation activity in the Republic of Tatarstan must be continued – said Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of the Tatarstan Government during the meeting with Albina Nikkonen, the Executive Director of the Russian Association of Venture Investments (RAVI), which was held at the RT Cabinet of Ministers on January 20.
