January 24, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with "KAMAZ-Master" team - winners of "Dakar-2009" rally-raid in the Ceremonial hall of the residence of Tatarstan President in Kazan Kremlin.

January 24, RT President Mintimer Shaimiev met in Kazan Kremlin with RT special state fellowship recipients, winners of state grants and award competition for state support of young scientists researches and youth scientific organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan, RT government grant recipients for training and retraining in Russian and foreign scientific and educational establishments.

Residents of Naberezhniye Chelny had a chance to express respect and congratulate KAMAZ-Master team members on the victory in Dakar-2009 rally. Right after they had arrived in the city, the winners headed for "Azatlyk" square.

January 23, the delegation of Finland, headed by the Lahti technology park’s environmental cluster project director Salem Banafa, held a meeting in the Tatarstan’s Alabuga special economic zone. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of cooperation with Finland in energy infrastructure development, particularly, in heat supplies, energy saving and other services.

January 22, the meeting of republican Council for priority national project "Education" in the Republic of Tatarstan was held in Kazan in the conference-hall of the RT Ministry of education and science.

Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs Asgat Safarov met with a delegation of Germany’s federal Internal Affairs Ministry. Issues of cooperation and experience exchange on counteraction to Islamic extremism were discussed at the meeting.

A session of the Republican public movement "Tatarstan - New Century" was held at the National-Cultural Center "Kazan" on January 22.

An inter-government protocol on measures on cooperation development in 2009-2010 was signed on January 21 in Minsk between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia). Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky signed the document.
