Meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev with the delegation of Great Britain Parliament House of Commons headed by the secretary of Inter-party British-Russian Parliament Group Robert Waring has taken place in Kazan Kremlin on April 3. Issues of inter-confessional and international agreement, economic and political development of Tatarstan were discussed on the meeting. Participants paid particular attention to the topic of American-Iranian relations and the situation with the detained British sailors.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev is on a work trip in Buinsk city. He has participated in the opening ceremony of Ice Palace “Arctic”.

The next destination point of the delegation headed by the President of China Hu Jintao in Kazan was the OJSC “Kazan Helicopter Plant”.

The Chinese guests viewed the plant workshops and the products.

Waving Chinese, Russian and Tatarstan flags, students of Kazan State University welcomed the delegation. President Hu Jintao and President Mintimer Shaimiev talked with the students.

March 28, the delegation of the People’s Republic of China headed by President Hu Jintao visited the International horse-racing complex to see the exhibition of Tatarstan commodity producers prepared there for the distinguished guests. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied the Chinese leader.

On the evening of March 27, Boeing 747 landed at the Kazan International Airport bringing the delegation of the People’s Republic of China headed by HE President Hu Jintao. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials met the distinguished guest at the airport.

March 27, the Tatar State Academic Theatre n.a. Galiasgar Kamal celebrated 100 years of dramatic art. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev attended the gala evening dedicated to the event.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with the first deputy of RF Government Chairman Sergey Ivanov, head of RF President’s administration Sergey Sobyanin, head of inter-departmental group on federative relations and local government, coordinator of national projects, RF President’s aide Igor Shuvalov in Moscow on March 22.
