On June 6, near M.Dzhalil Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet theatre in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, other officials, writers and poets took part in a poetry meeting dedicated to the 217th anniversary of a great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
On May 26, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a meeting of the Russia - Islamic World Strategic Vision Group held in Bolgar.

On May 9, with 45, 000 people Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov led the “Immortal regiment” movement in Kazan. People were carrying portraits of their relatives, who took part in Great Patriotic War.
On May 9, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, representatives of regional ministries and agencies took part in the Parade dedicated to the 71st anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War. The main stages of life of the Tatar poet, Hero of Soviet Union Musa Dzhalil were shown during the Parade.
On May 4, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Vasil Shaikhraziev, CEO of the Revival Foundation, Deputy Chairman of State Council Tatyana Larionova, Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin and other officials laid flowers to the commemorative token the “Kazan perimeter” in Bolgar in honour of the 71st anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War.
On April 27, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in opening of a new literature and sculpture park in Novy Kyrlay village, Tatarstan. The park was created on the initiative of a deputy of State Council Lutfulla Shafigullin.
On April 25, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a general meeting of Russian Commission for UNESCO affairs at Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On April 12, Tatarstan first President and State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, who is on leave in Karlovy Vary, laid flowers to the monument to the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin installed in front of the city airport. In 1966, Yuri Gagarin spent his vacation at a resort in Karlovy Vary.
On March 23, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev chaired a meeting on holding UNESCO International conference in Kazan in autumn 2016.
